Chorister Membership Enrollment in any UCC choir is a commitment for an entire season. Each season coincides with the school year, and each chorister is expected to be an active member from September through June. Active membership involves participation in all scheduled rehearsals, performances, retreats, and workshops. Choristers should feel a sense of commitment and responsibility to their respective ensemble as well as a sense of achievement and pride as they reach new musical goals, both personally and as an ensemble. If an extremely unusual circumstance prohibits a chorister from honouring their commitment to the choir, the chorister and parents are required to arrange a conference with the musical director before submitting a letter of resignation. Please note that no refunds on tuition will be made. Disruptive behaviour and excessive absences may result in a conference with the musical director. If the problem cannot be resolved, suspension or dismissal is at the discretion of the musical director. If a chorister is dismissed for any reason, no tuition refund will be made. In addition, the musical director may, at his own discretion, remove any chorister for any reason, including but not limited to vocal issues, issues of choral balance and blend, administrative burden, etc. |
